Bring your best poker face to the online casino table

So how is that possible I hear you ask?  Well, it is and it isn’t.  Just because you might not have the same intimacy in an online casino game of poker that you ordinarily would in a real casino, it doesn’t mean that the normal rules of poker-play don’t apply (and I include the highly valuable ability to bluff).  Whether you are playing hold’em, Omaha Hi or seven card stud it’s pretty important to know what you are about and exactly what you are doing.

Dependant upon the game, cards are sometimes dealt face-up or face-down on the table.  Whatever version of the game you are playing, each player tries to make the best 5-card hand that they can from the permitted cards.  Ultimately, the goal in poker is to get the ‘pot’ (money) at the end of the game, which has accumulated as the hands have been dealt and won.  Just as in a regular casino, in an online casino you want to be able to convince your opponents that you have a strong hand, even though you may not be convinced that yours is the strongest.  If, by making bets or behaving in a way that supposes that your hand cannot be beaten, your opponents will fold – but that is only if they buy the bluff.  If not, at least you tried and you should be acutely aware of when is a good to time to cut and run, i.e. fold (placing your cards down for your opponents to see).

Strategy in all forms of poker, including in an online casino is key to longevity and success in the game.  The rules are not particularly difficult to grasp, but it is the system of punch and counter-punch and if we are honest, good old fashioned attempts at trickery that really make a successful poker player.
